“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” – (Luke 19:10)

“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” – (Matt 24:14)

It’s interesting to think about the people Jesus would spend time with if He lived physically among us today.

Would Jesus be comfortable to work in your church’s programs? Much of the time and energy spent in the name of God’s work is actually not related to the great commission.

Would Jesus hang out with saints or sinners? Jesus came for people who were spiritually desperate. Those lost and who were eager and willing to hear.

Every lost person needs to find Christ through us. As Ambassadors of Christ, we need to expose the work of satan and help people to find the saving grace.

Jesus’ words remind us that there’s no one His love cannot reach. He didn’t come “to call the righteous, but sinners.” He came to share God’s love with people who were spiritually sick and unsavory.

Just as much as we need God’s grace, so do the prostitutes, drug addicts, drunkards, robbers and so on. May we never be an obstacle for these people but a channel of God’s love and saving grace.

The same is true about a falling brother. The Bible says: “Brothers, if a man is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in the spirit of meekness…” – (Gal 6:1)

I have said this before and I will say it again, churches are like hospitals where the sick should find healing and mercy. We must accept to be workers within Christ hospital to help heal the world.

We can never reach these sinners from our spiritual safe havens of our beautiful cathedrals, entertaining worship and soothing sermons. We have to come out of our comforts if we shall reach the lost.

As we pray for the lost today, pray for the body of Christ to be willing to soil her hands to reach every dark corner of this world.

This year’s Daniel Fast, we shall be directing our prayer gifts to the Mathare Slums Mentorship program and building a shelter for an elderly and mentally sick Mary Nyambura. You can Channel your support via – HERI Foundation Mpesa Paybill 831033, Ac Mathare or Shelter.
